John Denver is a popular singer and songwriter who has touched many people with his music. A lot of them are inspired by Colorado. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. was born in Roswell in New Mexico. He fell in love with Colorado and moved to Aspen. A few traveled to Colorado after hearing Denver's popular anthems to his adopted state. G. Brown the curator of the Colorado Music Hall of Fame stated in his report that John Denver was the best performer in capturing Colorado. Denver was one of the very premier Hall of Fame inductee in 2011. Denver has become the image of Colorado to many around the world. When I travel, I always come across someone from another end of the planet, someone from New Zealand and you say "I'm from Colorado The first word to come that comes out of their mouths is Oh John Denver! Brown admitted. Denver's first Top 10 hit as a solo artist following a brief stint in smaller folk groups was Take Me Home Country Roads which was co-written by Bill Danoff. Danoff had written the song inspired by Johnny Cash, but Denver discovered an early version and knew it would become a top 10 chart hit. After performing the track in Washington D.C. to a large audience, Denver did a song recording just a few days afterward.
